Goffstown’s Storied Past
These antique postcards offer a glimpse into the storied past of Goffstown’s Uncanoonuc Mountains. The area was a tourism draw for decades in the late 1800s and first half of the 1900s. The Incline Railway and grand Uncanoonuc Hotel (its dance pavilion held 800 couples!) are part of that legacy.

Uncanoonuc Mt. Perennials
From 1979 – 2016 the property was home to Uncanoonuc Mt. Perennials. Originally selling dug-to-order, field grown perennials our offerings expanded to include roses, shrubs, grasses – potted ornamental plants of all kinds. Year after year we continued to develop the gardens for people to enjoy and learn from. Educating gardeners and nurturing their success and joy with their own gardens was a primary focus from the first to the last days of the nursery.
Where We Are Today
The Gardens at Uncanoonuc Mountain
The next chapter, The Gardens at Uncanoonuc Mountain, began in 2017. Transitioning the property from nursery to event venue has been satisfying and exciting. Gardens, including ours, are never “done.” We are continually fine tuning the flow and beauty of the property, sometimes adding “wow” elements like our Pavilion and Bride’s Walk Arbor. We aim to take your breath away.
